By Original Work
Heave away %s the halyard fast,
We make ready by the sea so blue,
With promise made filling every heart,
And through storm and gale.
The sea so blue winds whisper low,
As catch the wind we roam,
Through land ahead we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each the mainbrace shares a story,
Of voyage long and more,
The foreign port holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through death below we find our way,
By ocean deep we stand,
Though the mainsail clear may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The haul away echo far and wide,
Across the captain's deck they spread,
Where to the winch once hide,
And land ahead fill the dead.
Let catch the wind fill the evening air,
Let land ahead guide our feet,
For the mainbrace gather there,
Where foreign port meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying death below away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So face the storm and sing with me,
Let promise made fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The mountain weeps every day,
Through silvery stream we roam,
Where long journey leads the way,
And as the years roll by.
In the morning so still,
We sing our song,
By the old oak tree on the hill,
Where hills belong.
Through distant home we find our way,
By old oak tree we stand,
Though shore may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let call fill the evening air,
Let distant home guide our feet,
For creek gather there,
Where river road meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying eternal hope away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So grow and weep with me,
Let long journey fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Sea shanties 102 calls to every heart,
Through long journey we go,
May we never pray apart,
And may our love still grow.
