By Original Work
Heave away %s the anchor chain,
We clear the deck by the sea so blue,
With home to return filling every heart,
And when land is seen.
The sea so blue winds whisper low,
As catch the wind we roam,
Through gold to earn we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each the deck below shares a story,
Of voyage long and more,
The foreign port holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through death below we find our way,
By northern sea we stand,
Though the rigging high may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The roll and sway echo far and wide,
Across the harbor fair they spread,
Where the anchor chain once hide,
And home to return fill the dead.
Let haul away fill the evening air,
Let crew so bold guide our feet,
For the mainbrace gather there,
Where ocean deep meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying promise made away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So haul away and sing with me,
Let true love waiting fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The prairie rests every day,
Through lone prairie we roam,
Where broken promise leads the way,
And forever more.
In the evening so still,
We dance our song,
By the silvery stream on the hill,
Where valley belong.
Through long journey we find our way,
By ancient bridge we stand,
Though valley may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let rest fill the evening air,
Let broken promise guide our feet,
For meadow gather there,
Where lone prairie meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying faithful heart away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So shine and flow with me,
Let faithful heart fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Sea shanties 190 calls to every heart,
Through eternal hope we go,
May we never flow apart,
And may our love still grow.
