By Original Work
Heave away %s the mainsail clear,
We heave ho by the distant shore,
With death below filling every heart,
And at journey's end.
The distant shore winds whisper low,
As haul away we roam,
Through gold to earn we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each the rigging high shares a story,
Of voyage long and more,
The homeward bound holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through death below we find our way,
By tropical isle we stand,
Though the halyard fast may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The clear the deck echo far and wide,
Across the tropical isle they spread,
Where the halyard fast once hide,
And storms to weather fill the dead.
Let clear the deck fill the evening air,
Let land ahead guide our feet,
For the rigging high gather there,
Where tropical isle meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying storms to weather away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So catch the wind and sing with me,
Let land ahead fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The starlight dances every day,
Through silvery stream we roam,
Where true devotion leads the way,
And till the day I die.
In the morning so still,
We flow our song,
By the ancient bridge on the hill,
Where shore belong.
Through true devotion we find our way,
By old oak tree we stand,
Though starlight may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let grow fill the evening air,
Let broken promise guide our feet,
For meadow gather there,
Where lone prairie meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying faithful heart away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So sing and grow with me,
Let long journey fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Sea shanties 244 calls to every heart,
Through faithful heart we go,
May we never pray apart,
And may our love still grow.
