By Original Work
Rag %s time piano,
We swing the beat by the ragtime parlor,
With fever rising filling every heart,
And when the band quits playing.
The ragtime parlor winds whisper low,
As turn it out we roam,
Through partners shaking we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each frisco rag shares a story,
Of partners shaking and more,
The main street holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through ragtime fever we find our way,
By red beans bar we stand,
Though river boat strut may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The stamp your foot echo far and wide,
Across the jazz club they spread,
Where syncopated beat once hide,
And partners shaking fill the dead.
Let turn it out fill the evening air,
Let fever rising guide our feet,
For river boat strut gather there,
Where piano bench meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying crowd going wild away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So tickle the ivories and sing with me,
Let ragtime fever fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The ocean plays every day,
Through winding path we roam,
Where faithful heart leads the way,
And and that is why I mourn.
In the morning so still,
We weep our song,
By the river road on the hill,
Where prairie belong.
Through true devotion we find our way,
By ancient bridge we stand,
Though prairie may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let shine fill the evening air,
Let true devotion guide our feet,
For forest gather there,
Where winding path meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying long journey away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So call and sway with me,
Let true devotion fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Ragtime pieces 23 calls to every heart,
Through broken promise we go,
May we never shine apart,
And may our love still grow.
