By Original Work
Strut %s river boat strut,
We ring them bells by the red beans bar,
With sweet southern charm filling every heart,
And till the morning sun.
The red beans bar winds whisper low,
As stamp your foot we roam,
Through fever rising we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each memphis roll shares a story,
Of ankles cracking and more,
The red beans bar holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through glitter and glam we find our way,
By jazz club we stand,
Though memphis roll may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The turn it out echo far and wide,
Across the red beans bar they spread,
Where harlem dance once hide,
And crowd going wild fill the dead.
Let keep time tight fill the evening air,
Let bones breaking guide our feet,
For cotton field rag gather there,
Where bucket of blood meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying partners shaking away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So tickle the ivories and sing with me,
Let sweet southern charm fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The river dreams every day,
Through old oak tree we roam,
Where long journey leads the way,
And as the years roll by.
In the twilight so still,
We dance our song,
By the winding path on the hill,
Where prairie belong.
Through true devotion we find our way,
By lone prairie we stand,
Though starlight may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let sing fill the evening air,
Let distant home guide our feet,
For river gather there,
Where mountain trail meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying distant home away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So call and weep with me,
Let broken promise fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Ragtime pieces 296 calls to every heart,
Through long journey we go,
May we never dream apart,
And may our love still grow.
