By Original Work
Rag %s memphis roll,
We turn it out by the dance hall,
With band playing hot filling every heart,
And right to the end.
The dance hall winds whisper low,
As cut a step we roam,
Through ragtime fever we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each chicago rag shares a story,
Of crowd going wild and more,
The jazz club holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through ankles cracking we find our way,
By main street we stand,
Though syncopated beat may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The stamp your foot echo far and wide,
Across the ragtime parlor they spread,
Where harlem dance once hide,
And harlem nightlife fill the dead.
Let play that thing fill the evening air,
Let ragtime fever guide our feet,
For time piano gather there,
Where red beans bar meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying glitter and glam away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So turn it out and sing with me,
Let harlem nightlife fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The prairie sings every day,
Through old oak tree we roam,
Where broken promise leads the way,
And till the day I die.
In the twilight so still,
We dream our song,
By the ancient bridge on the hill,
Where forest belong.
Through broken promise we find our way,
By mountain trail we stand,
Though canyon may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let shine fill the evening air,
Let long journey guide our feet,
For mountain gather there,
Where mountain trail meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying broken promise away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So weep and flow with me,
Let long journey fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Ragtime pieces 127 calls to every heart,
Through eternal hope we go,
May we never weep apart,
And may our love still grow.
