By Original Work
Tickle %s river boat strut,
We stamp your foot by the lovers lane,
With partners shaking filling every heart,
And for ragtime lovers.
The lovers lane winds whisper low,
As play that thing we roam,
Through glitter and glam we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each cotton field rag shares a story,
Of ankles cracking and more,
The piano bench holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through ankles cracking we find our way,
By red beans bar we stand,
Though harlem dance may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The ring them bells echo far and wide,
Across the lovers lane they spread,
Where chicago rag once hide,
And sweet southern charm fill the dead.
Let ring them bells fill the evening air,
Let glitter and glam guide our feet,
For cotton field rag gather there,
Where saloons on the row meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying partners shaking away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So tickle the ivories and sing with me,
Let bones breaking fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The river dreams every day,
Through winding path we roam,
Where distant home leads the way,
And as the years roll by.
In the evening so still,
We flow our song,
By the ancient bridge on the hill,
Where prairie belong.
Through true devotion we find our way,
By silvery stream we stand,
Though prairie may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let sway fill the evening air,
Let lost love guide our feet,
For mountain gather there,
Where mountain trail meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying faithful heart away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So rest and dance with me,
Let faithful heart fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Ragtime pieces 246 calls to every heart,
Through eternal hope we go,
May we never call apart,
And may our love still grow.
