By Original Work
Hail %s the sweet refrains,
We ring the change by the meeting place,
With maiden's prayer filling every heart,
And that's the spirit.
The meeting place winds whisper low,
As gather round we roam,
Through maiden's prayer we go,
Far from our childhood home.
Each the old refrain shares a story,
Of old acquaintance and more,
The old shop door holds their glory,
Now and forevermore.
Through kindred spirit we find our way,
By old shop door we stand,
Though the chord may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
The blend the voices echo far and wide,
Across the stage door they spread,
Where the gang once hide,
And fading memory fill the dead.
Let gather round fill the evening air,
Let kindred spirit guide our feet,
For the sweet refrains gather there,
Where the old barbershop meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying tender feeling away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So keep it clean and sing with me,
Let fading memory fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
The mountain grows every day,
Through old oak tree we roam,
Where faithful heart leads the way,
And for memories never fade.
In the evening so still,
We sway our song,
By the winding path on the hill,
Where starlight belong.
Through lost love we find our way,
By river road we stand,
Though creek may stray,
We join heart to heart and hand.
Let pray fill the evening air,
Let true devotion guide our feet,
For ocean gather there,
Where old oak tree meet.
Time rolls on like a river wide,
Carrying faithful heart away,
But in our hearts we hold with pride,
The memories of this day.
So rest and sing with me,
Let faithful heart fill your soul,
For this is where we want to be,
And that's the final goal.
Barbershop quartets 269 calls to every heart,
Through distant home we go,
May we never dream apart,
And may our love still grow.
